IN PERSON: The Reference Room and Research Help Desk are located to your left after you enter the main floor of the library. Library personnel are available at the Reference Desk to guide you in your research and to help you to locate and use reference sources all the hours the library is open. Appointments can be made with a reference librarian to guide and assist SUNY Oneonta students in research. CALL x2025.

INTD 150 Library and Internet Research
INTD 150 is a one hour credit course offered each Fall and Spring Semester which is taught by a reference librarian. This course is an introduction to research using a wide variety of techniques and resources in both general and subject-specific areas. The broad objectives of the course are to provide students with an understanding of the nature of information in the contemporary world, skills for locating and evaluating information, and knowledge of how to present the results of research. Print resources, electronic resources, and the Internet (including the World Wide Web) will be explored as potential search tools. Emphasis on specific subject resources will be geared to the needs and requests of students in each class.
Course-Related Instruction
Faculty can schedule classes with reference librarians who will teach students about research strategies and the location and use of sources for assigned research and library projects. Classes can be scheduled by calling x2025.
